DiekA is a finite element code for forming simulations initially developed at the University of Twente, the Netherlands.,
DiekA 10.1 is freely available. It was released in September 2011.

You can DOWNLOAD an installation package for Linux, Unix and MS-Windows. The Dieka source-code is available, mail to hanhuetink@dieka.org

The code was founded in the early 1980's by Han Huetink and since then continuously developed. The code is designed to solve non-linear plasticity problems and therefore well suited to model forming processes like sheet forming, bulk forming and welding.

The package has a very limited GUI for preprocessing. For more complicates mesh generation you need the commercial MSC-Patran package. There is a Patran Student edition . Also the free GID package has limited options for Dieka preprocessing.
The included postprocessing features are usually sufficient for examining the results, Patran and GID have more extensive features.
